Perfect!!! November 7, 2008 What more can I say? The boots were exactly what I wanted - price was great --- service was great!! I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate into my spring wordrobe!!!
I don't know that it IS a good idea to buy a size larger... November 5, 2008 I thought I was being smart by following the other reviews and ordering a size larger, but they ended up being HUGE! I sent them back for a size 9 and received the new pair within days. They fit absolutely perfectly, but just a warning, they do scuff quite easily (especially if you get white or some other light colour). The outer vinyl actually scratches off a tiny bit... But I still adore them and I'm tempted to purchase more.
for party rather than work June 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought these in the flat black just as an FYI, other colors may be different.
1 - They DO run about a half size small. I have them on my feet at the moment and they are more snug than I am comfy with. I have worn a size 8 since 9th grade and have been able to wear an 8 across the board with every brand of shoes I have ever bought. These I should have gotten an 8 1/2.
2) There is no lining inside the boot so you pretty much have to wear socks or something otherwise the vinyl will rub against your leg and may or may not be irritating.
3) With the boots being stretchy rubber, if your calfs rub together they make a terribly irritating noise.
4) The calf part of the boot is very small, which I am quite happy about since I have no leg muscle at all. But if you have large calves, these will probably NOT work for you.
5) There is a seam that runs down the center of your foot and over the toe. Now this is not necessarily a bad thing, but I bought these as a cheap replacement pair of boots to wear to work... the seam along with the generally rubber appearance makes them not quite as classy as I would like for a work environment.
6) Now I've only worn them for 2 days... but I would have to assume that these are not the sturdiest boots on the market. I would guess that with regular wear (2-3 days per week) these will probably last about a year for me.
Now if you are buying to go with a costume or to wear out dancing now and again then these should be perfectly fine, just order a half size larger than you would normally buy. If you are looking for a pair of every day boots, to go with jeans then these are fine and will probably make it through a school year. If you are looking for a pair of classy boots to wear to the office then I would look elsewhere.
***Update - After a week of wear (acutally this is about the 4th time) something inside the heel has broken... it isn't affecting my ability to wear them, however now there is what sounds like a piece of loose plastic in the hollow heel... this makes a lovely rattling sound every time I move my left foot... no sneaking up on people in THESE shoes!***
I love these boots. February 8, 2008 I am a costume designer and suggested these boots for a group of clients I made Mardi Gras costumes for. They loved them so I got some for myself. I wore them to a costume ball before Mardi Gras for about 10 hours and was totally comfortable. I also wore them for about 14 hours while walking all over the French Quarter on Mardi Gras day and was again totally comfortable. I have been recommending them to everyone. But... they don't stretch, like the description says. And they fit my skinny calves really well. So it you've got larger calves they might not be that great for you. I'm between and 8 1/2 and 9 and I got the 9. They might size a teeny bit small. I got the gold ones. I'll soon be getting them in more colors. They're great looking and super comfortable.
Very disapointed December 11, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought these boots because I read other reviews that stated that the boots stretched and were able to fit larger than average calfs. I bought them to wear out the night of my birthday and was disapointed and embarrassed when they did not fit. I do not have abnormally large calfs but the department store boots are usually tight to zip up. These did not even zip up. Returning them seemed the only option. But then I find out that I have to pay to ship them back and the shipping and handling fee I originally paid is not re-imbursed. AND THERE IS A 10% "RE-SHELVING FEE". I have ordered many products from Amazon.com but never have I been so unsatisfied.
